36 aroma vials across 7 odor families, 200 blotters, scent journal, blind-test labels, wooden presentation case.
A twenty-module program covering craft, compliance, brand, and commerce — for founders, perfumers, and developers who are serious about launching something that actually goes to market.
We assume you're serious. We cover the parts most programs skip — compliance, brand, commerce — and refuse to dumb down the parts most programs oversimplify.
The arc is deliberate: you learn to smell, then to name, then to mix, then to compose, then to engineer, then to comply, then to brand, then to launch.
Cultural history of the craft. Olfactory vocabulary. The structural grammar — top, heart, base — that makes every fragrance legible.
Naturals and synthetics. Extraction methods. The discipline of knowing one material deeply.
Accords. Briefs. Percentage math. Iteration practice. Scaling from a 10 g proof sample to a 1 kg trial batch.
Performance engineering. Reverse engineering. Stability studies. Carriers and product formats.
From kitchen to operation. Batch records. Supplier sourcing. Unit economics with honest numbers.
IFRA Standards and categories. EU and US regulation. Labeling, INCI, and the Safety Data Sheet.
Brand archetype and thesis. Product development. Channel economics — DTC, wholesale, sampling strategy.
Six weeks. Your own signature fragrance. Compliance dossier. Twenty bottles. A landing page. Your first paid customers.
One payment. No subscription. No cohort schedule to keep up with. You return to the modules over years, not weeks.
Self-contained lessons with embedded knowledge checks. Built to read like a serious book and work like a workbook.
One purchase, permanent access. Modules updated as the regulatory and commercial landscape changes.
Forty-one page reference covering every physical item required — vetted suppliers, SKUs, and cost estimates if you'd rather source materials yourself.
Eleven optional kits, each sourced to a module. Order what you need, when you need it. International shipping included.
You cannot learn perfumery from a screen. You can only learn it from a wrist, a blotter, and a disciplined hour per day. The kits exist so your hour is spent on the craft.
36 aroma vials across 7 odor families, 200 blotters, scent journal, blind-test labels, wooden presentation case.
12 vials showcasing extraction methods — rose otto vs. absolute, distilled vs. solvent-extracted jasmine, Haitian vs. Bourbon vetiver.
18 vials of the modern palette — Hedione, Iso E Super, Calone, Ambroxan, Habanolide, and the other molecules that built contemporary perfumery.
6 practice vials and a 48-page profiling journal for the deep-study exercises that build real material fluency.
24 materials in 15 mL dropper bottles, precision scale, 500 mL perfumer's alcohol, amber formula bottles, graduated cylinders.
12 supplementary materials (orris, violet leaf, osmanthus, opoponax), additional alcohol, and the Cologne Trial No. 1 master sheet.
Fixatives, diffusants, and radiance boosters. The materials that engineer tenacity and projection into a formula.
A commercial niche reference fragrance (rotated by cohort) and the candidate materials needed to reconstruct it at the bench.
Primary packaging to build the same formula in three formats: alcohol spray, oil rollerball, and candelilla-wax solid.
3 commercial reference decants, brief templates, line-architecture worksheets, and the 56-page Product Development Playbook.
1 L perfumer's alcohol, 24 × 50 mL bottles, atomizers, caps, sample vials, filter paper, printed Capstone Workbook, Shopify landing-page starter theme.
The program doesn't end with a certificate. It ends with a shipped product.
A six-week sprint at the end of the program where you design an original signature fragrance, take it through compliance, produce twenty bottles, build a branded landing page, and sell those bottles to real customers from your own network.
Brand thesis. Olfactory brief. Reference constellation. First 20 g mixed sample.
One or two iterations per day. Every version saved, dated, and logged.
Blind comparisons with three to five trusted evaluators. Rounds 9–15.
Commit to the submission formula. Cold, light, and thermal stability checks.
IFRA check. Allergen declaration. Label design. 20-bottle production run.
Landing page live. Waitlist email goes out. First paid customers. Hand-written notes.
One payment. Lifetime access. No cohort dates, no recurring fees, no upsell paths. You can be inside the first module within five minutes.

It is fully self-paced. Most students complete the curriculum in 12 to 20 weeks, working roughly 6 to 10 hours per week. Some take a year or longer — the modules remain available to you indefinitely, and many students return to specific modules repeatedly throughout their first years of practice.
Lifetime access to all 20 interactive HTML modules, the Kit Build Specifications reference PDF, and all future updates to the curriculum. Physical kits are sold separately — only buy the ones you need.
You can complete the entire program with just the digital tuition if you source materials yourself using the spec PDF. The kits are a convenience and quality-control layer, not a requirement.
No. Every kit is optional. The Kit Build Specifications PDF (included with tuition) tells you exactly what's in each kit, which suppliers to use, and what each item costs — so a determined student can source everything independently.
We sell the kits because for most students, the time spent sourcing 199 individual line items would cost more than the kit markup. But if you have time and you want to learn the supply chain as part of the program, the spec PDF supports that path.
No formal perfumery background is required, but an unusually good nose is assumed. If you struggle to distinguish lavender from rosemary, this program will be frustrating before it becomes rewarding.
Yes. Kits ship to the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and UAE as a starter set. Some materials (alcohol, certain fixatives) have customs implications in some destinations; we'll contact you proactively if your order needs special handling.
We offer a limited number of full and partial scholarships each year, prioritized for applicants from underrepresented backgrounds in fragrance and applicants outside the US/EU. Email school@alurent.com with a brief letter of interest.
Tuition is non refundable as you have access to the tutorials immediately upon payment. Kits are refundable if unopened within 30 days (return shipping at student expense) — once opened, they're yours regardless.
The digital tier is self-study, but enrolled students have access to an alumni Discord where current students and graduates discuss formulas, sourcing, and the practice. For 1-on-1 critique and cohort-style facilitation, we offer a separate Cohort Program at a higher tier — see /course.html or email us.
